with local crafter, Mary Vianese, taking a pre-made template and
embellishing it with birch and natural materials.

in this workshop geared to mid-level to experienced painters.
Learn advanced techniques through daily demos and critiques.
Introduction to pastels-Award-winning Indian Lake artist, Joann
Quinlivan, will teach this class in plein air landscape. Composition,
color, and application of strokes on a surface will be covered.
Gourd loon mask-Carrying on the traditions of her culture, Abenaki
Indian and Old Forge resident, Andree D. Newton, will help students to
design a dynamic mask. Using the popular Adirondack bird as subject,
students will use a hard-shell gourd as the base, adding detail with
burning pens, dremels and acrylic paint. Feathers and beads will be

Wooden canoe or kayak paddle-After an explanation of traditional
shapes and tools by renowned Long Lake craftsman, Caleb Davis,
workshop participants will use hand tools and wooden blanks to create
their own paddles from cherry. Choice of single or double-blade.
Willow furniture-Join master furniture maker, Bim Willow, as he
teaches how to turn fresh willow into tables, chairs, benches, trellises, and many more designs, stick-by-stick. Cost-EACH PROJECT IS

Beaded jewelry-Learn the basics of designing, stringing, and
finishing beaded jewelry with Indian Lake crafter, Linda Doyle.
Each person will design a necklace and earrings from stone,
metal, and glass beads. Cost-$50.00 Materials-$15.00
Decorative paddle painting-Andree F. Newton will instruct the class on how to paint a two-sided cultural design on a four-foot paddle. Acrylic paints and sealer will be provided along with cord for handle adornment. Cost-$40.00 Materials-$35.00
